Margaret was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Charles and Lydia Mixon. She was one of three siblings; Russel Mixon and late Jerry Bernd. She graduated from Baker High School in 1957 and retired with Chase Bank after many years of service.
She was a long term resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana where she was a member of the Comite Church of Christ. Margaret was a devoted minister's wife for 55 years to the late John C. Brown Jr.
She leaves behind her three children to cherish her memory; Yancy Brown and his wife Christy of Evans, Georgia, Mike Brown of Blythe, Georgia, and Tracy Brown Michelle' and her husband Frank of Gonzales, Louisiana.
Margaret was a loving grandmother of seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Amber (Jonathan) Bates of Evans, Georgia and their children; William, Henry and Lilly.
Niki Plagwitz of Harlem, Georgia and her children; Naveah and Raylee.
Tess Benson of Harlem, Georgia.
Lori Michelle' Hebert of St. Amant, Louisiana and her children; Hailey, Peyton, Brantley and Colt.
Anthony Michelle' and Dominick Michelle' of Gonzales, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held at Central Funeral Home 9995 Hooper Road Central, LA. on Monday, May 17, 2021 from 12:30pm – until service time at 1:30pm. The service will be officiated by Bro. Will Tramel. Burial will immediately follow in Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary, LA.
The family would like to recognize her caregiver and friend, Becky Morgan, as well as the staff of Compassus Hospice of Baton Rouge.
