Harold Wayne Patton, a resident of Central, LA, went to be with his Lord on October 21, 2021 at the age of 86. Harold will be remembered as a fair, honest, and hardworking Christian man. His earliest ambition was to be a baseball player, and it showed in the way he lived his life—playing sports and earning a football scholarship from Trinity University, San Antonio, TX. After college he went on to work 55 years in the oil field. His proudest career accomplishment was becoming a supervisor for Shell Oil Company, and then his partnership with Petroleum Well Services. Other achievements he held included being a Sunday school teacher and a member of Gideons International. His proudest personal achievement was the birth of his children. Some of his favorite hobbies included model railroading, watching college baseball, and jigsaw puzzles. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather, great-great grandfather, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Lebinia and Onis Patton; his sisters, Beatrice Atkins and Clara Love; and his brother, William Newman. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Noralee Patton; his children, Anthony Patton (the late Frankie Stephens), Valerie Love (Ronnie), Tamara Spaneas (Charlie), Katrina Murphy (Mike), and Mickey Patton (Chantaye); and his grandchildren, Christina Love, Debra McLin, Ronnie Love Jr., Miranda Amstadt, Emily Harkins, Charlotte LaFrance, Kevin Murphy, Sean Murphy, and Rebecca, Lindsey, Christopher, Luke, Paige, Jack Patton, Lisa Cerne and Amanda Hanides; 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation to be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Central Funeral Home at 9995 Hooper Rd, Central, LA 70818 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am with a service to follow at 1:00 pm. Burial will then take place at Roselawn Memorial Park on 4045 North St, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Gideons International Baker Camp, St. Jude Children’s Hospital Memphis, and Central Bible Church on Sullivan Road. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
