Acy W Newsom

Acy Wayne Newsom, age 64, passed away November 19, 2024. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA but a resident of Central, LA. Acy loved riding motorcycles and racing his #27 Bultaco flat track bike. He was known for riding his unicycle and loved anything with a motor. After his racing career he rode his Goldwing all over the United States with friends and family. Acy was an amazing cook and a great storyteller. His love for life was as big as his smile and laughter. His knowledge in many areas made him the best man to go to for advice. Later in life he loved spending time with his dogs. He was a wonderful brother, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Acy is survived by his son, Acy James Newsom and wife Miranda; daughter, Jesse Layne Newsom and Fiancé Aaron Meyer; son, Dusty Wayne Newsom and Amelia Adams; grandchildren, Sade A. Meyer, Nixon B. Meyer, Preston J. Newsom and Carolyn G. Newsom; as well as brothers, Bobby L. Newsom and Fiancé Patricia DeOliveira, Steven J. Newsom and wife Monica, and Charles M. Newsom.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby W. Newsom of Gloster, MS; Mother, Carolyn Dee McKnight of Central, LA; as well as good friend Mark Strother.

Relatives and friends are invited to Blackwater Methodist Church on Saturday, November 23, 2024 for a visitation beginning at 10:00AM until the funeral service beginning at 12:00NOON.
