Robert L. Woodford

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert L. Woodford, age 72, of Centereach, New York, who passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Sr. and Gertrude Woodford; survived by his brother Daniel Jr. (Cat) and niece Chelsea and nephew Daniel III and life partner of Mariana. Robert was a beloved member of the community, known for his dedication to his work, his passion for music, and his unwavering support for the arts and sports.

Robert made a lasting impact in many areas of his life. He was a talented cameraman at the Riverhead Racetrack, where his skill and attention to detail captured countless unforgettable moments. He was also a proud member of the United States Drums and Bugle Corps, where his musical talents as a bugler and commitment helped shape the group's success. One of his proudest achievements was being part of the OMPA 1995 Suffolk County Champion team, a testament to his hard work and perseverance in the world of competitive marching music.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Robert was a devoted friend and family member, always willing to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. His warm spirit, kind heart, and sharp sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. A service will be held that evening at 7:00 PM.

Robert’s legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of working with him, marching alongside him, or simply sharing a moment with him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
