Daniel McAleese

Daniel found immense joy in photography, particularly capturing the beauty of flowers. His love for nature led him to arboretums like the New York City Botanical Gardens and to flower shows where he delighted in the artistry of blooms. Alongside his creative pursuits, he had a remarkable career as a butcher and was also known for his talents as a cartographer, mapping the landscapes he loved with precision and care.

He is predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret and parents Daniel and Loretta. He is survived by his loving children Jenn Cooney (Jeff) and Danny McAleese (Aurelia). Cherished "Pa" to Casey, Cierra, Braeden, Taylor, Kate and Zack. Beloved brother to Timothy, Susan and Carol. His memory lives on in the hearts of other family and friends who will cherish his memory and the many ways he touched their lives.

A visitation for Daniel will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at O. B. Davis Funeral Homes, 2326 Middle Country Road, Centereach, NY 11720. A funeral service will take place that same evening from 8:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Interment will occur on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Oakwood Cemetery, 3 Moffitt Blvd, Bay Shore, NY 11706.

Daniel will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his warmth, creativity, and the beauty he brought into the world.
