Suzanne Harris Bartlett passed into the light on March 1, 2020. She was born in Tarentum, PA on November 13, 1926 the daughter of Melvin and Charlotte Harris. She received her teaching degree at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA. On June 15, 1950 she married Richard Bartlett and moved to Colorado. Suzy and Dick never returned to the east coast and lovingly raised four children in Denver. Suzy helped start the Head Start program in Denver and was awarded a scholarship from the City and County of Denver to obtain her Master’s in Education degree at the University of Denver. After Suzy obtained her degree, she then taught elementary school in the Denver Public School system for over twenty-six years. After the death of her husband, Suzy continued teaching but embarked on a journey of love with watercolor painting. Suzy was a member of the Colorado Watercolor Society and was juried into many state and local art shows. She was active in her church, The Good Shepard Episcopal Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Bartlett, her son Richard M. Bartlett and her daughter Christine C. Bartlett. She is survived by her daughters Lorie Sadler and Charlotte Rodman and her grandchildren Jesse, Rob, Brett, Alex and Will and her precious great grandchildren Gage and Grace.
There will be a private family service for her at Chapel Hill Mortuary.
