Susan Marie Somers

Susan Marie Somers, devoted wife of 43 years, loving mother of two, and grandmother of six, sadly passed away on October 3, 2022, at the age of 65, in Highlands Ranch, CO. Born Susan Carozza on March 19, 1957 in Elmira, New York, to parents Michael and Susie Carozza. Susan graduated from Elmira College magna cum laude and met her would-be husband, John Scott Somers, in 1977. They married September 8, 1979, lived a short time in New Orleans and Atlanta before making Highlands Ranch, CO their home in 1990.

Susan was proud of her career in microbiology through to her retirement from Rose Medical Center. But, more than anything, Susan was proud to be a wife, mother, and grandmother and lived her life for her family. She will be remembered as endlessly loving, strong and selfless, with a quiet strength, immense faith, resilience and the ability to find hope in any circumstance.

She is predeceased by her father, Michael Carozza, Sr., and will be endlessly missed by her family, especially her loving husband John Somers; daughter and son in-law Kristin and Eric Allen of Castle Rock, CO, with children Landon, Emilia and Declan; daughter and son in-law Lindsey and Sean Harding of Parker, CO, with children Isabel, Kate, and Liam; her mother, Susie Bevilacqua Carozza of Elmira, NY; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael Jr. and Diane Carozza of Horseheads, NY, and Marc and Pam Carozza of Zionsville, IN.

Family and friends are invited to Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, on Wednesday, October 12 for a visitation from 4:00-8:00p, with a rosary at 6:30p. Funeral services will be held at 1:30p on Thursday, October 13 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on S. Quebec St., followed by internment and reception at Olinger Chapel Hill.
