Steve was born in Denver, Colorado, where he spent his 16 years. His family briefly relocated to Los Banos, California. When his father passed away, Steve returned to his beloved Denver, where he attended G.W. High School and laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
Driven by a passion for craftsmanship, Steve pursued and earned his journeyman electrical license through Local 68, IBEW. For over a decade, he dedicated himself to various commercial projects, leaving a mark of excellence in his wake. Later, his commitment to quality and safety led him to serve as an Electrical Inspector for the City and County of Denver until his well-deserved retirement in 2013.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Steve's true joy lay in the simple pleasures of life. He found immense happiness in spending time with his grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and endless energy. An avid outdoorsman, Steve relished moments spent camping, fishing, and hunting, finding solace and fulfillment in the beauty of nature.
Steve's legacy of hard work, integrity, and love will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us as we cherish the memories of his remarkable life.
Steve was preceded in death by by his parents; John & Martha Berry.
Steve is survived by his wife of 55 years; Carolyn, his four sons; John (Sarah), Mike (Tiffany), Phil Kesler (Joyce) and Luke Mathiesen (Melissa), his seven grandchildren; Sydney, Zander, Colin, Marnee, Willy, Jeff, Jenny, five great grandchildren, and his sisters; Patty Whitefield (Ray) and Jeanie Rehnke (Bob).
A visitation for Steve will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 10:00 am with visitation the hour prior. His committal will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery following the funeral.
