Stanley Q. Myers was born June 2, 1920 in Leadville, Colorado; and died on October 6, 2010 in Denver, Colorado. He served 3 years in the Navy during WWII; he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He worked for Armored Motors (now Wells Fargo) for four years after his discharge from the Navy. He served on the Denver Police Department for 26 years and retired Detective Sergeant in 1976. Stanley is survived by his wife, Irene, and daughter ,Pamela Dixon, (Joseph Dixon); Granddaughter, Kathaleen Dixon, and Great-granddaughter, Shae Gero; Grandson, Allen Dixon (Sarah Acker), great-grandsons, Samuel & Maxwell Dixon; grandson, Dale Dixon; granddaughter, Angela H. (Larry) Brady, great-granddaughter, Caitlin and Corrin Brady, great-grandson, Duke Brady; and Grandson, David Dixon and great-grandson, and great-grandson, Oscar Dixon. His is survived by one Sister, Betty Lundee, and four sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hunsley, Sister Evangeline Anderson, Vivian Bauer and Evelyn Dolan.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cleora Summerton, and father, Wildman Myers, Aunts, Elveta Myers and Mammie Bolton, his mother-in-law, Catherine Anderson, his two brothers, Donald Brokaw and Arlo Myers, and Sister, Elveta Hunsley Watkins; bBrothers-in-law, Art Garrity, Bert Hunsley, Joseph Anderson, August Bauer, Ambrose Dolan, Ralph Hunsley, Gordon Watkins, Charles Schneeman and Eric Lundeen ; and four sisters-in-law, Evelyn Garrity Rausch, Dorothy Weber, Merlye Brokaw Schnider and Olive Myers.
Funeral Services will be at Chapel Hill Mortuary and interment at Chapel Hill Cemetery, there will be no graveside service. A viewing will be held October 14 at the Mortuary from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday the 15th of October. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Cancer Society or a Charity of your choice.
