year long battle with cancer.
Scott was born on September 7th, 1974 in Springfield, Missouri to George and Jacqueline
(Bonnie) Pope. When Scott was in first grade (1981), when his Mom and sisters moved to
Colorado Springs, Colorado. After graduating from Coronado High School, Scott went to
University of Northern Colorado and graduated with an associates degree in art. After many
jobs including Aramark, Scott started his own business as a real estate appraiser, Uptown
Appraisals. He enjoyed and flourished in his work there allowing him to be the successful man
he always dreamed to be.
Kicking off his entrepreneur path. He worked doing appraisals until 2013. During this time Scott saw the vision and dream of Eden Oaks Woodworking, in 2012. Investing in this new start up business with his childhood friend, he saw great things would happen with Eden Oaks. Already invested in a medical marijuana business with more great friends,Scott was the not “all the eggs in one basket” guy. In 2013 the medical marijuana business was growing and this took him to leave doing appraisals once and for all and go full time in the marijuana industry. His business partners who are also close long time friends and he grew the business together from the one small building to over 3 large warehouses and still growing. Scott took great pride in all of these businesses and the success that came from them. Never losing his humbleness and remembering where he came from. In 2021 Scott saw one more opportunity to invest. He believed in the idea and what would come from Pura Vida Bioplastics, straws. He wanted to save the turtles. While only a year into this investment he was excited for what would come of it. He was proud of all he accomplished in business in his lifetime. He was greatly appreciative that all of friends/business partners allowed him the time off working to dedicate to trying to beat the cancer beast.
Meeting his wife, Alli in 2012 changed Scott. He was a “forever bachelor” before meeting her.
Alli had two young kids and was recently divorced. Scott. Instantly a soulmate connection was
made and there was no going back, he suddenly had a serious relationship and two kids.
Married March 7th, 2014. Quickly changed to be a family man he realized this was exactly what
he was missing in his life. When Scott and Alli’s daughter, Stella was born March 3rd, 2015 he
was again changed. Stella was the apple of his eye and he would go to the ends of the earth
for her. Scott always said being a family man is what made him the happiest he had ever been.
Scott is survived by his wife, Allison (Alli), daughter Stella (7), step-children Andrew (18) & Lydia
(14). Sister, Stacy Kirkham (Joe Cherberry), nephews Ryan and Justin Kirkham, Sister, Laura

Tyler and Kyle Tubbs. Step-mother, Sandra Alfred. Mother in-law, Nanci Staskin, Sister in-law,
Shannon Byerly-Pace (Michael Pace), nephew Jacob Byerly and niece Ava Byerly. Among
many friends who he considered family. Pre-ceded in death by both of his parents George
Everett Pope and Jacqueline (Bonnie) Ann Pope (Kent) as well as father in-law, Michael
Staskin. Scott is also survived by many loving friends and business partners.
Scott was a family man above anything else. Father, husband, brother and uncle. He was the best at all. He enjoyed traveling with the family. Scott loved watching all of the kids in their sports and activities. Especially watching Stella at her dance recitals, her swim meets and soccer games. Cheering on nieces and nephews as much as he could. Everyone knew that “Daddy”, Scott” or “Uncle Scott” would be there for them in a heartbeat if they needed something. Andrew and Lydia saw him as their Dad as well, as he came into their lives at such young ages. He never for a moment loved them for anything less than “his own kids.” Date nights with Alli, finding new and fun restaurants to try or places to go and see. Never a dull moment or a time not filled with love and joy. He loved gathering with friends, watching football, going to sporting events and concerts, golf trips with the guys, even the calendar full of random activities his wife would plan. Golf was his favorite activity to do with his buddies. He would go every day of the week if he could. He dreamed of playing various courses all over the world. Scott always had the answer. He was wise above anyone else, also full of wise cracks that would make anyone laugh. He was the most true and genuine man in the world. His contagious laughter and love for life will be carried on by all who got to
know him and love him. Always putting the needs of others especially his family before his own. He was one of a kind and a true gem. His Father in-law would always say about Stella, “She is a gift to you and to this world”. Well Scott we believe that about you as well.
When Scott was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, November 7, 2021. He was determined to
beat this beast. He set out to change his diet, go with the western and eastern medicine
options. He was ready for battle and did all of the research to make sure to beat this. He was
never ready to leave his family and friends. Near the end he said, “my mind is not ready to go,
but, my body does to have much fight left.” He fought with all he had. F Cancer! One thing
Scott would want everyone to do is get a colonoscopy but with it demand an endoscopy. If
that had been a routine screening he might be here today. Do not delay and go to the doctors
when you have anything off and for regular check ups.
Scott always appreciated the Boys and Girls Club of America. As a child he often went there
and found it to be a great support to him. He told, Alli that anytime he’d support a charity it
would be the Boys and Girls Club of America as it helped him and he knew it would help
others. In Scott’s honor please make a donation to the B&G Club of America.
