Mia Bugel

1920 – 2019

Our amazing friend Mia passed peacefully away at age 99 in Littleton, Colorado on October 23, 2019.

Born in February 1920 in Wiesbaden, Germany, Mia lived in Wiesbaden for 33 years. There she met Andy Bugel in 1946; Andy served in the US Air Corps/Force in military transportation. They married in 1953 and lived in Japan, France, again in Germany, and in Bangor, Maine, before settling in Littleton in 1961. Their son Alexander was born in 1956. Mia proudly became a US citizen in 1966.

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, and mother-in-law; draftswoman, cashier and clerk, sitter, craftswoman and FRIEND, this strong, special, kind and witty woman will be missed by many.

Mia was predeceased by her brother Karl Zimmer in 1942, her father Karl Zimmer in 1947, her husband Andy in 1967, her mother Anna Maria (Jeck) Zimmer in 1975, and her son Alex in 2015.

Mary Lisa would like to thank the staff at the Manor on Marston Lake, the Life Care Center of Littleton, and Halcyon Hospice & Palliative Care for the love and care they gave to Mia.

A funeral service for Mia will be held at 10am on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121, a reception will follow the service.
