Joyce loved spending time with her family, being a historian for her Slovakian heritage, traveling, and volunteering for numerous causes. Her many talents included gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, quilting, and creating labyrinths on the family farm in Petersburg, Virginia, and at her sister's home in Salida, Colorado. Joyce received her master’s degree in computer science at the University of Denver, and her career was in computer programming at IBM and Public Service Company. She was admired by her family and friends for her wonderful personality, sharp mind, and boundless energy.
Joyce and her husband, Michael, were married for 51 years. They were high school sweethearts from the same hometown of Hopewell, Virginia. They moved to Colorado in the early 1970s and raised their two sons in the Congress Park neighborhood of Denver. Joyce and Michael moved back to Hopewell to live in their dream house on the Appomattox River for several years before returning to Colorado to be closer to their sons and granddaughters.
Joyce is survived by Michael Pritchard (husband), Mike Pritchard Jr. (son), Justin Pritchard (son), Phyllis Goldmuntz (sister), Barry Goldmuntz (brother-in-law), Jessica Stokes (niece), Aaron Goldmuntz (nephew), Bill Pritchard (brother-in-law), Betsy Pritchard (sister-in-law), Amy Pritchard (niece), Will Pritchard (nephew), Cindy Pritchard (sister-in-law), Karen Dunn Pritchard (daughter-in law), Marcia Pritchard (daughter-in-law), Tigist Pritchard (granddaughter), and Kidist Pritchard (granddaughter).
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Service for Joyce will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6601 S. Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO, 80121.
