Janine Susan Ernest Winters

Janine Susan Ernest Winters, 67, of Littleton, Colorado passed away on October 8, 2022 after a very long battle with health issues.

Janine was born in Pemberton, New Jersey to parents, Cherine Joy Charlesworth and Arthur Lee Ernest on August 15, 1955. Janine and brothers, Marc and Jeff, had a mobile childhood with their family Air Force service life in several states highlighted with 2-1/2 years in Japan. Janine graduated from Longmont High School in 1973. She met her husband, “love at first sight”, Christopher Winters, at the FAA. They shared 20 years together in Denver, Kansas City and Honolulu. Upon her return to Denver in 1982, she worked as an Executive Assistant and a Loan Processor for 35 years. Her pride and joys included decorating her beautiful condo in Southwest Denver, loving Westies dogs and her amazing cock-a-too, Jake.

Janine was truly a caring and loving person who was a joy to be around with her uplifting spirit. Janine had such a wonderful and entertaining sense of humor. She could strike up a conversation with anyone. Aunt Janine had a special relationship with her nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces along with her best friend, Michelle and children. Janine loved her rock ‘n roll and shaking it up on the dance floor. She loved the family time spent playing rousing rounds of cards and Trivia. Janine will be dearly missed.

Janine is survived by her loving brother Marc (Julie) Ernest; proud Aunt of Eric (Nicole) Ernest and Adam (Abigail Stecker) Ernest; adoring Great-Aunt of Ryan, Connor, Luke, Peter, Simon, Andrew, Simon, Sarah and Baby Ernest. Janine is survived by her Aunt Johna (Jack Schwella) McLean and Uncle Jerry (Laura) McLean, sister-in-law Valerie Ernest, former husband Christopher Winters, beloved cousins and treasured friends. She is further survived with extended family by her Mom’s marriage to Bill Temple: Melissa (Richard), Anthony (BriAnne) with Jace, Jaron and Brynna and Annaliese (Jason Brown) Bonacquista; David (Ruth) Temple, Belinda Temple; and her Dad’s marriage to Connie Boggess: Michael (Kellun Turner) with Summer (Brian Hertz), Sierra and Allegra Boggess; Kelly Bowerman with Madyson Gaupel and Avery Bowerman, Bob (Carla) Whittington.

Janine is preceded in death by her parents: Cherine and Bill Temple, Lee and Connie Ernest; brother Jeffery Ernest, Uncle Bill McLean, cousin Randy McLean, great-nephew Samuel Ernest; great-niece Frances Ernest; stepbrother Billy Temple, stepsister Peggy Kowalczyk, Stacey Kriegshauser and her devoted dog, Meesha.

The Celebration of Life for Janine in conjunction with the Celebration of Life for Cherine Temple, Marc and Janine’s mother, will be held at Olinger Chapel Hill, 6601 South Colorado, Centennial, Colorado 80121 on Saturday, June 3, 2023 beginning at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
