I was fortunate to have met Greg during a very tough time in my life in March, 2021.  I remember looking over and seeing him standing there alone. He immediately struck me as a 'good soul'. I'm generally a pretty shy person but I didn't hesitate to walk over and introduce myself. He was as I thought, he extended his hand and reciprocated his genuine pleasure to meet me. In the short period of time that I spent physically with Greg he always struck me as a deep, kind, and dynamic guy - definitely someone you wanted to keep around you. He talked about his boys, he was so proud of them! I could tell they were incredibly important to him and were a source of hope, inspiration, and drive. After we said our good byes we kept in touch and I was always so happy to see his messages of hope and encouragement; he was so strong. I loved his different interests especially bee keeping, it simply fascinated me. I'm a  gardener and my love for bees really provided that additional layer of connection with Greg. I have the packet of Forget Me Not seeds and I'm going to plant them in my garden this year and tend to them with special vigilance. I love you Greg. I miss you Greg!!

Greg was always the kindest person.  I’m blessed to be friends with Greg, since high school.

I met Greg in April and he was the kindest person. Always checking and making sure we were all doing ok. We were all fascinated by his bee keeping. Quiet and gentle soul. Please come and visit us. You will be missed. 


And I will forever cherish his hugs in my memories

We looked up to our brothers but never told ‘em that. 

Greg was my best friend grade school through high school, our brothers were best friends and went into the Marines together.  Greg stayed with us for some time to finish out his senior year at Hempstead when his dad was relocated to CO for work. He was good, loving, fun.  One of my best memories was when his parents had a band for his 16th birthday. Thank you for that, thank you for sharing him with us. Sorry for your loss and pain.  His memory will live on in Dubuque. 

So sorry for the loss of a great kid, that’s how I remember Greg, Derek’s little brother that always wanted to be like his big brother.   Thoughts and prayers for the family.
