Betty Jean Smith

On Monday, January 20, 2020, Betty Jean Smith passed away in her home at age 85. Betty was born on January 22, 1934, in Union County, NM, to Neva (Hanson) and Leland Larkin. She grew up on a cattle ranch, 20 miles NE of Des Moines, NM. On October 22, 1949, she married W. Amiel Smith. Betty worked in admissions at the Beaver County hospital and later as the County Agent at the Oklahoma Dept. of Human Services. In 1981 they moved to Denver, CO. She will be dearly missed by her children, Mark (Sandra) Smith, Ollie (Brent) Sumner, and Amy Smith (John Winkel); 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Amiel Smith; her daughter, Cynthia Williams; her grandson, Jeromy Smith; and her great-grandson, Landon Smith.
