Arnold L. Morton of Brighton, Colorado was 78 years old at the time of his death. He was born in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Benjamin and Ester Morton.
Arnold grew up in the Ft. Collins / Denver area. He enlisted in the Army Reserves when he was in the 11th grade in 1954 – he served 7 years serving his country. After the military he began his career as a sheet metal worker and was a lifetime member of Union #9. Arnold also was a volunteer fireman with West Adams Fire District for over 25 years.
On April 19, 1957 he married Barbaralee E. Wheeler; they started their home in Northglenn, Colorado and moved to Brighton, Colorado until her untimely death on January 26, 1978. To this union 3 daughters were born – Kim (Bruce) Latoski, Lea Anne Sherwood, and Tammy Morton.
On May 13, 1989 Arnold married Pam Ferrier in Glenwood Springs and Arnold gained to more step daughters, Monica and Melissa. He was blessed with 4 grandchildren (James, Barbara, Jeremy, Jebydiea), 1 great-granddaughter (Tatum) and 3 step – grandchildren (Taylor, Brittney, and Jack).
He also enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing, snowmobiling, raising horses and showing Australian cattle dogs.
Arnold was a season ticket holder for his beloved “Denver Broncos” whom he loved to watch and cheer for.
We will miss his beautiful smile those “Baby Blue” eyes, his orneriness and most of all the love he had for his family. Arnold will be missed dearly by the ones he leaves behind but it gives his family comfort knowing that he will be met at Heaven’s gate by the love of his life.
