Ruth Naomi Heller

Ruth Naomi Heller, at 100 years of age, of Arbutus/Catonsville, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 after a month-long illness under the care of the Carroll Hospice Program. Ruth was a devoted and loving daughter of the late John Handy Elliott and the late Emma Amanda Fleming. She was the cherished wife of the late Joseph E. Heller and loving mother of the late Sandra L. Wilson Jirecek, Gwendolyn A. (Wendy) Judge and Joseph J. Heller, Sr.

Ruth was a devoted and loving grandmother to the late Samuel Wilson, the late Michael Wilson and Kelly Goodrich; Janine Bennett; James Judge II; Jennifer Parks; Julianne McBride; Douglas Aquilla, Michelle Doster, Joseph Heller, Jr. and Shelby Heller. Ruth is also fondly remembered by their spouses, James Judge, Sr, Sharon Heller, Carol Wilson, Rebekah Wilson, Barry Goodrich, Holly Bennett, III, Kimberly Judge, Thomas Parks, Andrew McBride and Kaitlin Heller.

Grammy or MomMom has enjoyed many great grandchildren including Holly and Elizabeth Bennett; Heather and Scott Pugh; Samantha and Adam Wilson; Zachery, Brooklyn, Delaney and Crystal Goodrich; Bryan Wilson; Brittany, Megan, Jordan and Shane Doster; TJ, Evan, Maya, Maria and Rory Parks; Amanda, Shawn and Kylie Goolsbee; Desiree and James Judge III; Hailey, Gavin and Calleigh McBride; and Silas and Owen Heller.

Grammy has also enjoyed several great-great grandbabies: Grayson and Madison Goodrich, Liam Bennett, and Annabelle and Cassius Pugh.

Ruth has survived all her siblings but has numerous nieces and nephews. She was born November 29, 1919 in Ilchester, MD and is the only member in her family to graduate from high school. Most of her life she worked as a bookkeeper and retired around 1979. Afterwards, she became an enthusiastic Avon representative from which she received many awards. Around the age of 95, Ruth decided to hang up her Avon Rep sign and also give up her driver's license.

After a fall at her home and a fractured hip, she decided to reside in the homes of her daughter, Wendy, her son, Joe and her granddaughter Janine. She healed well and could walk with a walker, mostly taking care of herself, and she looked forward to her weekly visit to Church and her hairdresser appointments. Ruth liked to be challenged by crossword puzzles and word searches, looked forward to our family get togethers and absolutely adored and was entertained by the newest young members in our families.

After Ruth's latest illness, she became too tired to stay with her earthly family and has gone on to her Father and her heavenly family.

The viewing at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., the Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Church, and the burial at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens are private.
