It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Concetta Marie Ruzicka of Selbyville, Delaware, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, on November 28, 2024. At the age of 78, Concetta left this world surrounded by her family, leaving behind a legacy of generosity, love, and joy that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Concetta lived a life filled with purpose and kindness. Her loving spirit was a light to everyone she encountered—whether she was making a new friend in line at the grocery store or hosting gatherings filled with laughter, food, and warmth. To know her was to feel immediately welcomed and loved.
Concetta was deeply devoted to her family. As a mother, she was a pillar of strength and compassion, always there with a listening ear, wise advice, or a comforting embrace. As a grandmother, she was a source of endless fun and boundless love, creating cherished memories with her grandchildren that they will carry forever.
Her generosity knew no bounds. Concetta gave freely of her time, resources, and heart to anyone in need. Whether baking treats for neighbors or lending a helping hand to a friend, she carried on her parents mantra that “giving is the greatest gift of all.”
She is survived by her husband, Louis Ruzicka; her children, Matthew Ruzicka (Amanda Ruzicka), Beth Schlenger (Richard Schlenger); her brother, John Faggio; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Brooke, Alex and Amelia. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, John and Rose Faggio, who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.
A memorial visitation for Concetta will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral Home of Catonsville, Inc., 1630 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228. Following the visitation will be a prayer service at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association (Diabetes Research, Education, Advocacy | ADA ), an organization that is fighting to find a cure for those affected.
Her absence will be deeply felt, but her love and light will remain with us always. Rest in peace, Concetta. You will be forever missed and forever loved
