William 'Bill' Michael Colleary, Sr., age 67, passed away in Greeley, Colorado on July 13th, 2022. After his much prolonged battle with Alzheimer's, Bill is now free from the prison that the disease had made of his mind.
Bill was born on June 12, 1955 in Washington D.C. to parents, William Francis and Phyllis Colleary. He moved with his family to Centennial, Colorado in the early ‘70s, where he would then graduate from Arapahoe High School; before continuing on to the Colorado School of Mines where he would study Geology & Petroleum Engineering. It was at the School of Mines that Bill would meet the love of his life, Eileen. Soon after graduating in 1977, they both quietly ran off to Reno,Texas to elope. It was some years later they would then settle in and begin their family in Aurora, Colorado. After much hard work, Bill and Eileen were able to begin building their much anticipated dream home in Franktown, Colorado. Bill made a living as a Petroleum Engineer, but his first passions would always be geology and gardening. Just like his mother, Bill loved to garden, working tirelessly to establish a garden of his own in the middle of a field of wild grasses. Little did Bill realize the endless battle with the local wildlife, who viewed his garden only as delicious, that he faced. That, however, did not stop him from working from dawn to dusk in his garden.
Bill is survived by his children: William Michael Jr & his wife Kim, James & his wife Katie, Shannon and Thomas; grandchildren: Aibhlin and Caitlin; and sisters: Kathleen and Christine. Bill is predeceased by his love Eileen (November 2018), mother Phyllis (February 2015), father William Francis (May 2020) and brother, Daniel (October 2019).
