Jane Ellen Hall Larson was born on October 17th, 1947 in Winnebago, MN to John Hall and Doris Whitman, and was the youngest of their four children. Jane attended grade school and high school in Fairmont, MN, and later moved to Minneapolis in 1965 to attend the University of Minnesota, where she met David Larson. Jane and David were married in 1969 – the start of a life together that would encompass nearly 51 years. In 1980 Jane gave birth to their daughter Erin Katherine, and later their son Alexander John in 1984. Jane sold residential real estate until Erin began elementary school, then worked as a stay at home Mom and volunteered at Oakwood Elementary School. Jane resumed her volunteer efforts when her grandchildren began elementary school, working in the library at Willow Creek Elementary School for nearly five years. She greatly enjoyed helping students discover new interests in books, and was an avid reader herself. Her work in the school library combined three of her greatest joys: knowledge, books and children.
Jane began playing golf in the mid-1980s at Westwood Ho Country Club in Sioux Falls, SD, and it quickly became her passion. She golfed in numerous women’s leagues, and was a member of the Seniors League at Red Hawk Golf Club until her death. Jane was preceded in death by her mother Doris Hall and her brother James Banks Hall. She is survived by her husband, David, her daughter Erin Hurley (Christopher), son Alexander (Bhavisha), and grandchildren Reese, Nolan and Maya Hurley, sister Jean of Phoenix, AZ, and brother John (Diane) of Cornucopia, WI.
