He is survived by his spouse Lanita, daughter Brittany Hooton (Chris), son Adam Davis (Meili), and grandchildren Molly and Cooper. Siblings Bob Davis (Patty), Sue Potter, Lorreta Stewart (deceased), Ken Davis (Cathy) and Natalie Coenen (Bill).
Jim was a man of great adventure. In his younger years he often talked about working on a cattle ranch, followed by joining the U.S. Army at the age of seventeen. While in the Army he served in the 101st Airborne Division. He excelled in the following areas: Sniper School, Jungle Expert, Air Assault/Sharp Shooter, use of the M-14 and M-15 Rifles, and the .45 Caliber Pistol, and Hand Grenades.
During his service he was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for meritorious achievement. After the Army he worked for the United States Postal Service. He retired after twenty-two years.
Jim was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed camping, fishing, singing country music, little dogs and riding motorcycles.
He had a great love of God, his wife, family, neighbors and lifelong friends. We are going to miss his sweet smile and sense of humor.
Rest in Peace Sweet Jimmy, you’ll be forever in our hearts!
