Shortly after taking a job for the Electric Division of ITT, she met Jack Egan. They married Sept 5th, 1964. After marriage, Jack and Betsy decided to put their roots down in Alaska where she would go on to work for the Alaska Division of Wildlife. Upon settling down, they welcomed three children, Patrick, Sean and Kathy, the most important part of Betsy’s life. She taught boy scouts, hosted wonderful birthday parties, and was the kids' biggest fan at hockey, baseball, softball, and Sean's cross country meets.
Betsy remarried January 25th, 1992, to Richard “Dick” Harding, her long-time love. They started their life together in Colorado, where Betsy worked as an Admin Assistant until retiring from Kaiser Permanente. Dick and Betsy traveled and saw the world together. Whether they were on Betsy's favorite cruises to Alaska, Mediterranean, Baltic Sea, scuba diving in the Caribbean, visiting Rome, or simply fishing in the mountains of Colorado, Betsy loved the adventure and memories made. In addition to Betsy’s love of orange Tabbies, she loved to create- a woman of many talents. Betsy was an amazing seamstress who also loved to crochet, making many outfits, costumes, stuffed animals and blankets for her children, grandchildren, and friends to enjoy.
