Dear Sordello family and friends

While working at First Solar, Chris was my point of contact at SMA.  Chris was a great guy and very detailed.  We spoke often of his dogs and family.  I always admired his vast knowledge and life experiences.  Wish I would have had the opportunity to meet him in person.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Sordello family.  I'll always remember his great sense of humor and genuine personality.

I'll do my best to humble the customers in your place, but those are big shoes to fill. Thank you for all the knowledge you've passed on. You are missed.

Dear Rose and family,

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Chris. He was such a wonderful person, a loyal true friend, full of passion who even during difficult times took on any challenge with his very special and lasting humor. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to know and working with him. He was much more than just a colleague and friend of mine. He was  a selfless expert and tech wizard, always willing to help and go the extra mile. Something which unfortunately not always has been recognized and appreciated by some whose jobs and careers heavily depended on his expertise and reputation at the customers. At least he does not need to suffer anymore from this  unjust ungratefulness  he was confronted with.

I personally will always remember the way he made me laugh and how he welcomed me to be his friend for life I herewith declare, I never will forget him. He continues to live in my memories!

Chris shared the family home in Los Gatos Ca. with his 2 brothers Mike and Mark and sister Suzanne along  with his mom and dad and Beatrice the basset hound and Oddie our German shepherd, He and his brothers shared their youth being close and doing the crazy things that little boys are capable of doing. His sister being younger was just the house ornament. He was a good kid having only one scare caused by his brother Mike. Narky Mike and Chris got caught riding a mini bike on the street. Mike flew through the door claiming that his brother had been arrested by Officer Cherry and he Mike, was innocent! A trip to "juvie hall" was all that it took to make an impression on Chris to always do the right thing. He always waited until early morning to review his homework with his dad. Seems like it always resulted in a screaming match but ending with a hug from Chris and a lopsided smile.  He could charm anyone. He fulfilled his promise to his dad and got his degree. It wasn*t easy because he was married and raising a family and working too. 
A parent seeing their child sick and suffering is not easy. Chris was trying to be strong for his family but was not always successful. We talked on the phone until it was so much effort that I told him to just listen. His illness was difficult for everyone.His children and I flew to Colorado to show our support for his decisions. In his final day"s he had the support of his wife and hospice. I told Chris that his dad was ready to take his hand and lead him to a better place that was far more beautiful than the place that he was in. My beautiful son, there is no suffering and only peace where you are now and I will be with you and our family will be together.

My big brother, this is so difficult for me as I write this with tears in my eye because I could never thank you enough for what you have done for me. You are the best big brother anyone could ask for.
I am happy that I was able to talk to you the day before your passing and grateful that I was able to spend time with you and Rose talking about the past. What a great time we had as kids. We had great parents too who taught us well and cared about us.
I know that you sure enjoyed taking Suzette and I out in your 68 Torino and I am sure Dad is proud of what you did to the Torino too. It was a great day.
I know you and Dad did not get a long time on this earth, but I hope and pray that you are with Dad and the rest of the family laughing it up. 
I know for sure that your friends will miss you and the laughs that you brought them because I will miss our talks and the laughs in the early mornings as I drive to work. You would make me laugh so hard that I would start coughing up a lung.
I will do my best to help your children when they want help from me along with your wife too.
I miss you now and knowing that we will not talk again until I see you in heaven just makes me cry.
You are in my thoughts everyday and you will always be in my heart until I see you again.

While we only worked together a short time, Chris was someone I considered a friend, an exceptional colleague, and a true gem in this world. He was always willing to take the time to teach me anything I could think of. My deepest condolences.

I'm going to miss you, Chris. You were a great co-worker and friend. I learned a ton from you. We had so much in common. Cars, Music, and yes even our pain in the butt dogs....See you in the Great Hope we have in Christ.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Chris already before I came to SMA. At SMA I was allowed to work with him and I always admired him for his deep technical knowledge, his sense of humor and his positive mindset in general. 

We probably don't have the right on earth to decide what is fair and what is not, but to see him go hurts and seems unfair.

RIP my friend and see you around.

I worked at the same company as Chris, HMT. I found him a very smart guy but also a very good storyteller with a wicked sense of humor. I will miss him

Dear Sordello family,

My heart is truly broken.   Chris and I have been close for many years. I was so hopeful he would beat this.  We would talk for hours every week.  He loved all of you so much and was so proud of each and every one of you.   Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this most difficult time.  I’m going to miss my friend for the rest of my life.

Your departure saddens us, but your legacy will endure through our memories.
Rest in peace, my dear friend and colleague in audits.

I have worked with Chris over the last 8 years here at SMA America. He has always been a great source of information and humor all at once. Chris and I would spend seemingly hours on the phone discussing issues going on with the products and talk about things we had both experienced in life. Chris was a great storyteller and I think I will miss that the most as well as his wealth of knowledge that he was willing to share with anyone that asked. Thank you for 8 years of knowing you Chris and just know that you will be missed by more than you could imagine. Good journeys my friend.

Chris was always so positive about everything. He would say something serious about a situation and then make a joke about it. He was always willing to support, I enjoyed that about him. He always had so much to say. He would liven up any room he was in. It was a pleasure knowing you.

I will always look back fondly on the punchlines and laughs we shared in our calls after customer meetings.
Your intellect, humor, and genuineness will be greatly missed, and I know that wherever you are now, you are lighting-up smiles and enlightening minds.
I still owe you a beer and my 70s prog-rock album ranking, I guess we'll have to wait a bit.

As one of his former principals at SMA, I was desperately sad on hearing of Chris passing away. With his passion and spirit for his work, his competency and his personal engagement, Chris will be missed by myself - and truly not only by myself.  

My heart is with his family and loved ones on his last farewell journey. Chris will be in my heart and my warmest thought are accompanying his soul forever.
