M.Sgt. Carl Oliver Kingsley (USAF-Retired) passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, due to complications from ALS. Carl was born July 4, 1934, in Lawyersville, New York, to Frank and Inez Kingsley. He was the youngest of nine children and grew up in the town of Cobleskill, Schoharie County, New York. In his youth Carl was an avid runner and soccer player. In High School he lettered in cross country and track and field and in 1983 he was inducted into the Cobleskill Central School Cross County Hall of Fame. Carl entered the United States Air Force January 15, 1954, where he proudly served his country for 20 years. He married Carol Ann Faggella August 28, 1955, and had two children Karla and Stephen. During his military career Carl was stationed all over the world including England, Arizona, Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, Thailand, Vietnam, Texas and New York. After retirement Carl became a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and held many positions including Commander of Chapter 13 (Chicopee, MA); Commander of Chapter 103 (Dunedin Florida); and Treasurer and Adjutant of Chapter 8 (Mesa, AZ). Carl was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Carl was always there to offer advice or help to fellow Veterans who needed a hand.
After his military career, Carl worked for NCR Corporation, in Springfield, MA, where he sold the first computerized cash registers to stores across New England. In 1979, Carl and Carol moved to Tampa, Florida, where Carl founded Crisp Clean Air Systems. Carl designed and manufactured custom ozone systems for air purification in homes and offices. During this time Carl served on the Board of Directors for several Tampa Bay business organizations including Carrollwood Area Business Association (CABA); Tampa Bay Business Builders (TBBB), North Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the Tampa Bay Engineers Association.
In 2012, Carl and Carol moved to Phoenix Arizona to be closer to their son and his family where they lived for 11 years. In June of 2023, Carl and Carol moved to Castle Rock, CO, to be close to their daughter and her family. Carl began having symptoms associated with ALS in September 2023, and was diagnosed with ALS in late January/early February 2024. By July 1, 2024, Carl had lost the use of both legs and both arms due to the disease. Carl loved his country but more than anything else he loved his family. Carl had an incredibly positive impact on those around him with his charisma, witty personality and contagious smile. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Carl is survived by his wife, Carol, his daughter and son-in-law, Karla and Robert Cosgrove of Castle Rock, CO, their son and daughter-in-law Robert Jr. and Brittney Cosgrove, and son Stephen Cosgrove. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Heather Kingsley of Frisco, TX, and their two sons, Christopher and Jordan Kingsley.

A memorial service for Carl will be held Friday, October 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel, 407 Jerry Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104. A committal service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
