Cam's father Gary Hayden and his mother Patricia Bains were married in Sedalia, Colorado, and Cam was born in Vancouver, Washington on December 18, 1968. They lived in Camas and Washougal, Washington, where after his service in the US Navy, Gary worked at the paper mill and Pat finished high school. Cam was still very young when they moved back to Denver. A couple of years later, Gary and Pat divorced, and Pat and Cam moved to Castle Rock, Colorado around 1977.
Pat later married Ken Burgess and they bought a nice house in Castle Rock, where Cam grew up. After several years, they divorced. Cam was outgoing and likeable and made friends easily. He was also advertoursome and unafraid, having several notable mishaps trying to impress his friends.
As an adult, he lived in Arkansas, Florida, and Arizona, having traveled often by hitchhiking, throughout much of the United States. He spent many years in and around Orange County, California. He was good at carpet and tiles, but also did a wide variety of jobs. He moved back to Castle Rock in 2017.
He was always energetic and fun-loving. He loved riding bikes, the outdoors, and playing games - being especially good at chess. He loved his friends, as well as his childhood dog Bear, his newest dog Minnie, and his family. But he didn't always make wise decisions; and now he's left us before his time. He will certainly be missed.
A celebration of Cam's life will be held at a later date. Please check back for updated service information.
