Brian, Bri, Bijou, “B”...call him what you want, but to his culinary friends he was known as Chef or Shaner. Regardless, he was always ready to delight you with lively conversation and a never-ending stream of exceptional cuisine. His passion was his son Quinn. They shared common interests in cars, bicycles, STL Cardinals, ice hockey, general mischief, abundant good-natured teasing….and let’s not forget about the LEGO’s. Brian was a highly regarded professional chef, using his artistic talents and boundless creativity to prepare memorable gourmet offerings pleasing to all. When not crafting his latest “chef’s choice”, he thoroughly enjoyed time hiking, camping and snow-boarding … living an active out-doors life in Colorado for the past 30+ years.
Brian is survived by his son, Quinn Fogertey Shaner; mother, Pegi Etzkorn (Tom); sisters, Colleen Kelly (John) and Margaret Rousseau (Jon); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Brian was preceded in death by his father (Kevin Shaner).
