I was blessed to work with Steve in 2 different pharmacies for over 20 years and he was always so gracious and kind!   Although we did not work in the same region of North Carolina, I always enjoyed seeing him during our pharmacy meetings!  He will certainly be missed and I'm praying for his family during this difficult time.

Mr. Steve was a great person to work with and made a difference every time he was there. He always made lots of jokes and had many stories to share. He always uplifted me and gave me great advice. I will miss looking forward to seeing him at work to let him know what I had learned at school each week. Our pharmacy family misses him so much already. Steve was my favorite “big boy cousin” when I was a little girl. He was the one who never refused to twirl me around in Grandma's yard when we all visited!  I thought he was the cutest cousin, too. His sweet spirit remained as he grew up; he never missed a chance to show his caring side to my mom, and I always appreciated his calls to her.

We are so sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. My brother and I grew up in the same neighborhood. We remained lifelong friends. He will be missed.

Since we met as teenagers Steve was always an incredibly kind, curious and dedicated humanitarian and friend. He had a special love for animals, nature and basic Eagle Scout skills....he could really tie fancy knots. He was born to be the soulful  Boy Scout that he was lifelong. Steve was at my side when I met my husband at a Xmas party at Emerald Isle. It was cold but I still wondered if Steve might go surfing as we danced to the strains of Jimmy Buffett  and his beloved Allman Brothers. Steve had very long thick hair in the early 70's.  On weekends and summers he would work in his hometown pharmacy with hair under the most hilarious short wig I had ever seen. It was fabulous. That wig never encumbered him from loving every client he ever met. He was so proud and interested in being a pharmacist. And I will be eternally proud  to have known and been in the aura of Dr W Steven. May he live forever in the hearts and minds of his beloved family and friends.

I worked with Steve as a pharmacy technician. He was always making jokes, making work fun, had great stories he would repeatedly tell me, and was a big support for me when my dad passed. I always told him I missed him on the days he wasn't there. I definitely miss him now. I pray for the family through this difficult time, his pharmacy family misses him so much.

I have so many many memories of Steve and have talked to him on the phone several times this year.  He always made be laugh.  He was totally dedicated to others and he loved his family.  I thought of him several times the day before he passed away and was going to call and chat….but I let that moment slip away and I’ll always regret that.   He will be very much missed but will forever hold a very special spot in my heart.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved coworker, Steve Godfrey. His gentle spirit, care and  kindness touched the lives of many, and his absence will be deeply felt. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory be a source of comfort and strength.
