Robert "Bear" Howell Britt

Bear was born May 19, 1920 in Moore County to the late Rufus H. Britt and Malinda Moore Britt. He was a graduate of Biscoe High School and was a WWII veteran of the US Army Air Corp serving in the south pacific. Bear was employed with Carolina Power and Light retiring with over 45 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Britt; and sister, Georgia McIver.

Bear is survived by his sons, Kent J. Britt of Willow Spring; J.R. “Buddy” Blalock of Laurinburg; daughter, Sue Ann Long of Charlotte; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home Chapel, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511. Burial will follow the service at 3pm at Biscoe Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11 am Sunday prior to the service.
