Michael Zane Hardy, Jr.

Michael was a 2011 graduate of Athens Drive High School and attended Wake Technical Community College. Though his life was short, Michael lived his life as an example to others through his kindness, generosity and authentic, sincere Southern manners. His final act of generosity was being an organ donor.

He was passionate about the Carolina Hurricanes and video games- he was part of a national online supportive community of gamers. Michael enjoyed performing vocal impressions, drumming and discovering new recipes to entertain his family.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother: Terry Kienle, of Cary; sister: Meredith Kyle and husband Alexander, of Chapel Hill; grandmother: Margaret Kienle; uncles and their families: John Kienle, Earl Jay Kienle, and Jeffrey Kienle and by other extended family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father: Michael Zane Hardy, Sr.; grandparents: John Kienle, Sr. and Kenneth and Trannie Hardy; and by his uncle: Robert Kenneth Hardy.

The family is grateful to the Duke Raleigh Hospital and Duke University Hospital Staff for their compassion and care.
