I solicited words to describe Mike and kindness and willing to help others emerged.   Hence “kind servant “.

Missing Mike today and every day.   I wish he could be here to celebrate Meredith’s engagement, Joeys wedding but I am grateful he didn’t have to endure the stress of the pandemic.

Doesn't get any easier without you, my 'work dad' ... you are still missed so much, but i just rely on my wonderful memories of your smile and voice.  I know you're taking care of things upstairs and watching us all bumbling about down here - no worries... we'll see you again in due time!  Rest easy and keep your eye on us... we need you  XO   <><

Dear husband, best friend and confidant,  loving father who forgave  others their shortcomings , who loved children, “dad jokes” ,was quick to offer assistance to others, a servant of the Lord, Marvel comic and Star Trek fan who obsessed about electric cars and the environment, lover of a good meal and especially at Thanksgiving.  Cancer ravaged his body but he pushed forward for nearly two years through pain, weakness and fatigue.  Mike never missed a day of work because he felt poorly, even though he had to sleep sitting up for months and bandage the countless wounds caused by his cancer infusions.

I miss Mike so much.  Life is less without him.  

Mike has been a great friend for the last 40 years, first as a co worker at IBM in Charlotte where we started a tradition of going to the Outer Banks fishing every year in the fall.  We continued that tradition after Mike and his family moved to Raleigh and others of our group moved to other locations..and had our last trip together in November.   Through this, we have been able to keep our friendship alive and keep up with our families and happenings.  Mike has always been a caring and dependable friend and was always anxious to help others.  His sense of humor always kept us laughing and his wisdom often had us considering "another way" . Thank you for your friendship, Mike, until we meet again.  Ron    

I remember him with a smiling heart  every day that I knew him.

It is with sadness that I write, but with fondness, I remember the two of you, Terry. 
It has been many years since our friendship began at Central United Methodist Church, 
but I will always call you friend.  Time and distance have separated us, but Letha and I have remembered Mike in our prayers during this hard time for your family. We pray that the Lord will provide you a measure of comfort, as you draw close to Him for strength, during this trying time....your friends, Ben & Letha 

My condolences to the Hardy family.   Mike and I worked together many years ago in Charlotte at IBM  when we were all young and just starting to build a life.   Mike was a smart fellow and  I have many fond memories of those days.

I was saddened to hear of Mike's untimely demise. Please accept my sincerest condolences.  I lost track of you guys when you moved to Raliegh but I have fond memories of working with Mike. His sense of humor was, to say the least, unique. Working with him  those long hours of overtime on the 4720 was just a little brighter than it could have been without his corney puns.
