Mark Edward Langdon

The family moved to Florence, SC and then Mecklenburg County, NC. The second of four boys, Mark was always one who wanted to have fun and live life to the fullest. After an epic post-high school cross-country road trip, Mark eventually ended up enrolled at the best place on Earth, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It was there, at the Kappa Psi Pharmacy Fraternity house, that he first laid eyes on Susanne, his future wife. She was in love from the moment she saw him, you can ask her.

Mark went on to be the father of three children: Stephanie, Kate, and Dan. He also leaves an empty hole in the Fred Anderson Toyota family, where he worked for over 20 years. Known as “The Mayor” to those in the business, Mark’s coworkers were family whom he loved and laughed with just as much as his family at home.

He made sure his children loved UNC as much as he did, and instilled in them the importance of living life to the fullest, caring for others, and UNC sports. Despite how tough he liked to appear on the outside, Mark was a softy at heart, who despite his protesting bringing animals into the house, would end up loving them just the same.

Mark will be remembered for the way he looked out for everyone who crossed his path, and cared deeply about making sure everyone was taken care of. Anyone who knew Mark knew he believed life was a party, and was ready at the drop of a hat to smile and celebrate, give a hug, and raise a glass.

Mark would want people to remember him as a fun-loving, UNC crazy man who had a heart too big for this world.
