Kimberly Sue Ackerson

Kimberly Sue (Gustafson) Ackerson, 59, of Cary, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on May 30, 2022, surrounded by her daughters and husband. Kimberly grew up in the upper peninsula of Michigan, a state she loved.

She spent summer vacations on Crystal Lake, MI and winter vacations on Marco Island, FL. Kimberly was an accountant and started her career with S&A Restaurant Corporation in Dallas, TX. She most recently worked for Art is Love in Durham, NC. Kimberly will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Kimberly is predeceased by her father, Richard Gustafson.

Kimberly is survived by her daughters, Ellen Ackerson of Raleigh, NC; Sara Ackerson of Arlington, VA and her husband Jay of Cary, NC. She is also survived by her mothers, Bernice Rutecki of Naples, FL and Bunny Gustafson, her father’s second wife of Grand Rapids, MI.; her siblings, Nanette Grim (Scott) of Lowell, MI.; Jeff Gustafson (Ciara) of Lowell, MI.; Doug Harwood (Grace) of Olympia, WA; Chris Hoefferle (Erich) of Stillwater, MN and Brad Gustafson (Melissa) of Brimley, MI. Kimberly is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews that she adored.

We request all of Kimberly’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary, NC 27511 on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2:00pm.
