Has it been 2 years already? Two years ago today, we gathered in North Carolina to remember Jimmy, my beloved cousin. I miss him intensely, but no more so than all of his other family - his wife Andria, father, brother, sister, nieces, nephews and multitude of cousins.  Jimmy was my first diving buddy and the "cool" cousin that I admired. He had such a great view on life and such a great sense of humor, sarcastic as it could be, yet still honest.  We miss you Jimmy, and I have no idea what you would have said about 2020, other than it would have been something great! 

I went to college with Jim.  He had the most exquisite sense of cynical humor and observational sense i can remember among all of us knuckleheads.  He would watch, assess, and comment, usually summing up in a way that was loving, biting, humorous and memorable.  He was one of the first people i knew who was spending a lot of his time thinking about technology... and what it could do.

Kalos on a life well spent, Adelphos.  Hic Finis Est.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Jim personally, I found a picture of him and his dog Mickey online. We had a dog named Ricky, who was a dead ringer for Mickey. We corresponded a number of times, he put up a picture of Ricky "Mickey's Cousin" on his website. People were amazed at the resemblance between the two dogs. 

I just found out about Jim passing today, looking up that picture of Mickey and Ricky. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Jim..

Jim was my big brother.  We were alike in so many ways.  We always understood each other, at the deepest levels.  He was always there for me, sometimes when I didn't even know it he stood behind me.  I will miss his passion for everything (like Mom), his sardonic world view (like Dad), and his wry laugh.  I loved hearing him go on and on about my daughters.  They were his greatest love, second to Andria.  God blessed him when He brought her into our lives.  I will miss the comfort of my big brother in my life. 

I loved him as a brother.  He was godfather to my daughter, Loren, a role he relished and in which he excelled.  I remember when she had an important science project in the 7th grade; one so daunting it required a trip to Raleigh in a snow storm so he could help her build a lie detector.  His patient instruction and support carried the day. Typical of all his endeavors.  She won the blue ribbon.  

His devotion to Andria was so beautiful.  You did good...

I wish you fair winds and following seas, shipmate.  It was an honor to call you my brother and my friend.

Jim was our Lagoon Run buddy. We had great vacation memories with Jim. I loved Jim’s great sense of humor. We will miss you buddy. Deb 

My condolences to Jim's family.  I am very sorry to hear of his passing.  I have been a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in central NC for many years, and had known Jim from a number of Auxiliary activities.  I know that he will be greatly missed.  God bless him and his family.  


Jim was my roommate for 4 years at Union College. I had pulled a practical joke on him and was laughing as I bent down to put on my sneakers. Then he was laughing because I almost fell over trying to pick up one shoe - he had nailed it to the floor! 
We also both worked for campus security - patrolling the campus from midnight on Friday to 8 am on Saturday - it was a great job because nothing ever happened and we got paid for something we would already be doing - staying up all night! 
I dug out a few old photos of Jim. I included one that has him escorting my grandmother (Granny) at my first wedding. Granny (and he called her that, too) lived in near college and I went down to her house every 2 weeks for dinner - and Jim usually came with me. Granny adored him, and he really enjoyed her. 
We didn't see much of each other after college - he was in Chicago and North Carolina and I was in NY and MA, but we did talk, and kept up with major life events. I have many, many memories of Jim. He was a great friend and I'll miss him. 


Andria, so sorry to hear about Jim. He was such a fun person and we will miss our dinners with him. You are in our thoughts.  Arthur.

Jim is survived by his wife of 38 years, Andria D’Errico; father, Daniel J. D’Errico; siblings, Peter D’Errico and Jennifer D’Errico Gant; Nieces, Loren and Caroline Gant; and his nephews Daniel D’Errico and Joseph D’Errico.
