James Trevor Hudson, known as Trevor, age 23, passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2022 at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. His family was by his side and able to hold his hand as he peacefully transitioned. Trevor passed away after being treated in the Cardiovascular ICU unit, due to his heart being in a state of cardiogenic shock.
Trevor was born to Joel and Angie Hudson in Cary, North Carolina on August 21st, 1999. He graduated high school from GRACE Christian School in 2018. In 2021 he moved to Wilmington, NC where he lived until his passing.
Trevor was an accomplished athlete who played a variety of sports that included football, lacrosse, and swimming. He was well-known as a witty prankster, and he loved to play a good joke. Trevor enjoyed cooking and food, and he would never turn down a chance to get Chick-fil-A or a late-night milkshake from Cookout. Trevor loved a broad variety of music, sneakers, and nice cars. He always found peace being around water or near the ocean. Above all, Trevor was genuinely and uniquely himself, and he contributed so much to those who knew and loved him.
Trevor is survived by his parents, Joel K. Hudson and Angela Armour Hudson, his sister and brother in-law, Hannah Hudson Petrea and Graham W. Petrea, his grandparents, James V. Hudson Jr. and Charlotte Linda Pickett Hudson, and James Travis Armour and his wife Bettye Armour and Trevor’s girlfriend, Grayson Elizabeth Gladys Gibson. Trevor is also survived by many other extended family members and beloved friends who love him dearly.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Trevor’s honor at The Summit Church – Apex Campus, 3000 Lufkin Rd, Apex, NC 27539, at 3 P.M. on Monday, September 12th. His family will receive friends and loved ones following the conclusion of the service. His family asks you to “come as you are” to the service, as they know Trevor would want guests to be comfortable and casual. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, consider donating to the Foundation of Hope organization (www.walkforhope.com). This organization’s mission is to conquer mental illness by investing in groundbreaking scientific research and mental health initiatives.
Trevor loved others deeply and was loved deeply by many. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
Online condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.BrownWynneCary.com which will be captured later in a photobook for the family to keep.
