Frank is a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School and LaSalle College in Philadelphia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After retiring from IBM, he was devoted to volunteering in his community. He completed many volunteer hours of service assisting migrant families, Wake Crisis Center, Battered Women’s Shelter, Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity, NC Highway Patrol, and Citizens Assisting the Cary Police. He was a Eucharistic minister and sang in the church choir for many years at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida as well as in the choir at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Cary, NC. Frank loved his country and was a US Army veteran. Frank enjoyed playing and singing folk music on his guitar and banjo, being outside in nature, and sharing humorous stories with friends and families.
Frank was a devoted husband to Rozanne Farrell, father to Jenni Farrell and Patti (Farrell) Columbe and grandfather to Jack, Finn, and Madelyn Raabe. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert and Joan Farrell, his brother-in-law Walter J. Boyle, Anne T. Boyle, wife of his brother-in-law Frank Boyle, and his niece Joanne Clemens.
He is survived by his wife, Rozanne Farrell, daughters Jenni Farrell and Patti Columbe (David) his grandchildren, brother-in-law Francis Boyle, sister-in-law Cathy Boyle, his brothers Ben Farrell and Bernard Farrell, and his sister Varena Kessell as well as his nieces and nephews and their children and his cousins in West Virginia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 12/22/23 at 11:00am at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 804 High House Rd. in Cary, NC. 27513
