A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Saint Francis United Methodist Church in Cary, NC at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Dot was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devout Christian and longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Fuquay-Varina in Fuquay-Varina, NC, where she was Lay Leader and loved singing in the choir. When she moved to Cary in 2016, she joined Saint Francis United Methodist Church and remained a member until her passing.
She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Dot was famous for her macaroni and cheese which she always made for Thanksgiving.
Surviving are her two sons, Colonel (Retired) Jeff Johns (Ginger) of Bermuda Run, NC; Dan Johns (Nancy) of Cary, NC; four grandchildren: Christopher Johns-Klein (Jeremy), Zachary Johns (Amy), Rachel Johns, and Adelle Johns; four great grandsons: Brandon Johns, Jason Johns, Cody Johns and Taylor Johns; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and caregiver, Nancy Symons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah (Tom) M. Jones; daughter, Kim Jones Moore; two brothers: Wesley Jolley and Jack Jolley; and three sisters: Elizabeth Harris, Joyce Jolley and Caroline Hutchings.
