Donald Lewis Brooks

Don was born on October 1, 1952 in Decatur, IL to Gerald and Kathleen Brooks, who both preceded him in death. He served in the US Army and was a graduate of Florida Atlantic University. Immediately after graduation, Don was hired by IBM, with whom he was employed throughout his professional career of 31 years. Don first and foremost loved his family, especially his daughters. He enjoyed the beach, boating, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a very kind and loving man who always put others before himself.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Christ Church, 120 East Edenton Street, Raleigh. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 5-7p.m. at the Brooks’ home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Y-Guides and Princesses, 801 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 200, Raleigh, NC 27607 or to UNC Hospitals.
