Carl was born October 30, 1956 in Wilson, NC. He was a graduate of Appalachian State University and served as the town manager for Holly Springs, NC for over 12 years.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Bess Baptist Dean; and father, Grover Hillman Dean.
He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Rose Dean of the home; mother, Nell Taylor Beaman of Raleigh, NC; sister, Jane Dean Tracy and husband, Bill of Grayslake, IL; and niece, Brooke Marie Tracy of Grayslake, IL.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Sunrise United Methodist Church, 5420 Sunset Lake Rd Holly Springs, NC 27540. Burial will follow the service at Holly Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 pm Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511.
