She was born to the late John Edward and Hilda Koehler Lehning in Cairo, Illinois on August 12, 1930. Jane grew up in Rome, Georgia before making her home in North Carolina many years ago. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlton Tankersley.
She is survived by her two children, James Tankersley of Raleigh, and Jane Tankersley and husband Jerry Locklear of Apex, sister Nancy Rathslag of Chicago, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held Wednesday, October 14th at 3:30pm at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Cary, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
