Anna was born on February 24, 1937, to Reid C. and Carol C. (Falkenburg) Eddy in Indianapolis, IN. Anna graduated in 1954 from Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis and in 1958 from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in HPER (Health Physical Education Recreation).
Anna was a loving mother to her four children and always gave her best whether it was being the family taxi driver to swim practices and meets, attending all her children’s sporting and school events, or providing nightly home-cooked meals. She passed her love for cooking and culinary skills to all four children who continue her traditions to this day.
Anna had a razor-sharp wit with a brilliant sense of humor and a beautiful sparkle in her eyes when she laughed. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching a good movie and her alone time. Anna was also a lover of the arts including ballet and music, with Neil Diamond and Queen being two of her favorites. She was a card shark and took no prisoners when it came to playing gin, rummy, Uno, or euchre. She never passed up the opportunity for great meal (especially home cooked) and was known to thoroughly enjoy every sip of a single, “good” martini. Anna suffered no fools and was a believer of good manners, correct grammar, and proper posture. As many people learned over the years, she would not hesitate to point it out if you were lacking any of these. Anna relished the three years living in Germany and exploring Europe with her then-husband, the late Daniel F. McCarthy Jr., while he was serving in the military. She especially loved the ocean and her favorite place was Hatteras on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
Anna is survived by:
