Mr. Lowery was born on April 11, 1928 in Bartow County, son of the late Howard and Corean Dyar Lowery.
Mr. Lowery proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Georgia Power after many years of dedicated employment. He then became a Bailiff for Bartow County for twenty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking long walks and spending quality time with his family traveling to Daytona Beach and the Smoky Mountains. He was a true servant of the Lord and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mr. Lowery is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Doris Ross Lowery; brothers, David, Buford, Horace, Boyd and Clyde Lowery; sisters, Annie Lee Teague, Edith Bryant and Martha Ann McEver.
Survivors include his son, Ronnie (Debra) Lowery; grandchildren, Whitney (Clifton Puckett) and Weston Lowery; great-grandson, Asher Puckett; sisters, Joyce Hayward and Dottie (Senate) Wilson; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends and neighbors, Harry and Gail Childers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at one o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 23rd of January, 2020 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Harris officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Kenny Lowery, Billy Lowery, Ralph Mathison, Jerry Mathison, DeWayne Mathison and Derrick Lowery.
Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Garren, Harry Childers and Elmer Womack.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family for two hours prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Lowery's honor to Cartersville First Baptist Church Legacy Fund.
