Angels rejoiced as Ronald Allen Belcher left his earthly body and took his heavenly flight and Jesus welcomed his faithful son into his loving arms on April 5, 2016. Ronald, 74, of Cartersville fell at his home suffering life threatening injuries and though he fought a valiant fight Jesus called him home. |
Ronald was born November 16, 1941 in Cartersville, GA to loving parents Rev. Johnnie and Thelma Belcher. He is preceded in death by his beautiful bride Sarah Jane Belcher, father; Rev. Johnnie Belcher and mother; Thelma Belcher. He is survived by daughters Christy Belcher and Courtney Belcher; grandson Johnnie Conlan Belcher; brother Richard Belcher; sister-in-law Janice Belcher and several nieces and nephews.
Ronald had many interests, he was an active member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, gardened around the house and dappled in painting or drawing nature scenes. He had a love of sports and was an athlete. In his earlier years he played football, basketball and baseball and helped bring his home team; Cartersville High School to victory. He played golf his entire life and many of his golfing buddies also fellowshipped with him at his church. His careers included owning a florist and making beautiful arrangements and later working for The City of Cartersville for over 23 years holding various job titles. After his retirement in 2004 he spent his days traveling with his wife, brother and sister-in-law going on cruises to Alaska and then later to Hawaii and out west. More recently he spent his days doting on his only grandchild, Conlan, playing football with him and watching him play. Often you could find Ronald outside walking his dog, Rosie and just watching nature and the world around him. Ronald recently told his daughter, Christy, “Every day I’m alive, is a blessed day, not boring.” Ronald certainly lived each and every day to the fullest, laughing and loving his friends and family.
