Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Odell and Dorothy Jean Nally. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Bradford Nally; children, Paula Lou Jean Colosi, Amanda Renee (Joey) Crocker, Bradford Garrison (Kinsley) Nally; grandchildren, Leia Colosi Randall, Naomi Renee Colosi, Daniel Lavalle Crocker, Brittany Gail (Alex) Tate, Chandler Lane Nally, Sandra (Sandi) Lynn Nally, Emma Grace Nally, and Audrey Jean Nally; One great grandson, Atlas Jun Randall; One brother, Jerry Lee (Faye) Nally, and many special nieces and nephews.
Paul graduated from Cartersville High School in 1963. He attended Reinhardt College and John Marshall Law School. He worked at Lockheed Marietta as a Milling Machine Operator. He joined the Georgia Air National Guard in 1965 and served for 14 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He married the former Sandra Bradford on May 28, 1966. After completing his military training, he returned to Lockheed, Fairmount Police Dept. and served as the first Police Chief for the city of White. He also worked for the Georgia Dept of Transportation. Paul was a member of Pine Log United Methodist Church and was a Mason. After retirement, Paul had a passion for law and helping others. As one friend wrote, He was “a true patriot and a great warrior for truth, justice, and the rule of law.”
Paul will be sorely missed by all who loved and respected him, but he leaves behind a legacy of encouraging people to never be content with indifference or ignorance and to always strive to continue educating themselves.
A visitation for Paul will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home, Inc, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, GA 30120. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pine Log UMC Church, 3497 Pine Log Rd NE, Rydal, GA 30171 with Rev. Kirk Bozeman and Rev. James Hannah officiating. The interment will follow at Pine Log UMC Church with Clay Nally, Jeff Sharpton, Greg Sharpton, Rusty Cobb, Baron Green, Corey Barrett, Mike Pressley and Jason Reitz serving as pallbearers.
