Pat is preceded in death by her parents Grady Henry Howard and Sudie Rampley Howard; brother, James “Jimmy” Howard. She is survived by her daughters, Leiah Shamblin, Cindy Sklba; son-in-law Dayvyd Sklba, grandchildren, Eryk Sklba, Haley Sklba, Leiton Slusher; sister-in-law, Shirley Howard.
Pat graduated from Pepperell High School in 1962. After high school, she worked for Southern Bell as a long distance operator. In 1965, she relocated to the Cobb County area and it was here that she helped raise her daughters, always actively involved with their church, Girl Scout, softball, and band activities. Pat was a long-time member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church and was involved in the church choir, children’s choir, and puppet and clown ministries. Pat worked for Cobb County Board of Education for 20 years, beginning as a substitute teacher and retiring as a paraprofessional, working in both special education and drivers’ education classes. After retiring, she relocated to Cartersville to be close to her daughter Cindy and family.
Pat was an avid reader and had a passion for crafting. She also enjoyed watching Nascar races and cheering on the University of Georgia football team.
Pat’s favorite color was red and the family requests that everyone wear something red to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to: Alzheimer's Association or Arthritis Foundation or COPD Foundation.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. The family will receive friends starting at 2:00 pm.
