Mrs. Huskins was born on July 15, 1941 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late Vernon Rutledge and Mattie Lou Cornwell Rutledge.
Mrs. Huskins retired from Nantucket Industries after thirty plus years of dedicated employment. She was a proud and active member of White United Methodist Church, where she served as the Sunday School secretary for sixty years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved cooking for her entire family Sunday lunches and dinners. In her spare time, she enjoyed tending to her gardens.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Bernice Branton and Elene Fortenberry; brothers, Gene Rutledge, Luther Rutledge, David Rutledge, Dillard Rutledge and J.M. Rutledge.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-seven years, James Huskins; daughter, Pam (Glen) Kimbrel; grandchildren, Joey (Christy) Deams, Jennifer (Blake) Weaver, Michelle (Jeff) Adcock, Michael Kimbrel; great-grandchildren, Tucker and Tate Deams, Bailey, Bryson and Brinley Weaver, Lance and Zachary Brown, Mallory and Paul Kimbrel; a host of nieces and nephews, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at four o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 20th of October, 2017 in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Schlicht officiating. Interment will immediately follow in White Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Eric Huskins, Jeremy Huskins, Dennis Huskins, Roger Rutledge, Mark Rutledge and Roy Rutledge.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o'clock in the evening until nine on Thursday, the 19th of October, 2017 at Owen Funeral Home.
