Mary is survived by her sons Neal (Jennifer) Rozelle, and Tom Rozelle, and preceded in death by her daughter Claire Sheahan.
She grew up in Kennett, Missouri where she attended Kennett High School then moved to Auburn, Alabama where her children were born. Mary lived most of her life in Dunwoody, Georgia where she enjoyed crossword puzzles, needle point and reading, and being a mom, wife and executive.
Mary and her late husband Doug Sumrell owned and operated the first helicopter company in Atlanta. Executive Helicopters was founded in 1966 and flew traffic reports with Captain Herb. They often flew cross county experiencing many adventures while having the time of their life. She made everyone who knew her laugh, cry, and clap at all the stories she shared. She was a nurturer by nature, had the biggest heart and never turned down chocolate. Even in assisted living while she was struggling, she always wanted to care for others.
Our family is grateful to know that Mary is at peace. We deeply appreciate all of the support surrounding us.
We’d like to thank the staff at Highlands Senior Living (Cartersville) for loving Mary, Regency Hospice for caring for her and us through this difficult time, Georgia LTC Pharmacy for dutifully ensuring all of Mary’s needs were met and Nancy at Kaden Home Care for getting us started on this journey.
