Mrs. Brooks was born December 19, 1937 in Canton, Georgia daughter of the late Marshall Bell and Marie Evans Bell. She was retired from Shaw Industries; she loved flowers and she loved dogs. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Brooks; a daughter, Joan Rose; sons, Tony Cagle and James Cagle; sisters, Mildred Silvers and Carolyn Payne.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Paul Rose of Cartersville; daughter, Janice & Raymond Cagle of Cartersville; son, Johnny Cagle of Taylorsville; daughter-in-law, Pam Brawner of Cartersville; son, Charles Cagle Of Calhoun; son, Stacy Cagle of Cartersville; step-children, Annette Thompson and Sheila Flowers of Cartersville; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; special friends, Scott Bernstein, Tammy Blackmon, Evelyn Caldwell.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Collum officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bo Cagle, Eric Rose, Jason Fillers, Richard Hardin, James Shindorf, Cameron Floyd, Tanner Hovers, Stephen Cagle, Jamie Cagle, Jeffrey Cagle, Ricky Payne.
