Louis Grant Smith

Louis was born on January 28, 1949 in Millville, DE, son of the late Ralph Smith and Susie Lank Smith.

Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from The Georgia Department of Transportation Road Department after twenty-five plus years of dedicated employment as a Draftsman. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting coins and antiques. His greatest joy was spending quality time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Louis is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Akers; sisters, Norma Smith and June Powell; brother, Josh Smith.

Survivors include his daughter, Alexis (John) Wright; grandchildren, Blair, Luke and Victoria Wright; brothers, Robert, Keith and David Smith.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 11th of November, 2019 in the Chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Crumbley officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Gabe Agan, Cliff Torok, Jeff Blalock and Carter Shaw, Levi Shaw and Christopher (CJ) Smith .

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock in the evening until eight on Sunday, the 10th of November 2019 at Owen Funeral Home.
