Today is Sunday May 19, 2024.  Via FB I found that Kyle is gone as of 2021.  Working as a mortgage broker in CARTERSVILLE I got to know Kyle by financing residential property for him.
My experience with Kyle was always a pleasure. He was a good as gold person, and very genuine. 
I’m really sorry to learn of his passing.  The world would be far better if he were in it,

Was thinking of you again this evening. There is a wildfire near Frozen Lake. You, Tim and I released a grizzly bear there. It was one of the most enjoyable days of my time volunteering for Tim. The release of the bear was quick and uneventful which always is good as you very well know, but the conversation and laughs were even better. You are missed, Kyle. 

Kyle was a regular customer of the delivery service I work for.  I always looked forward to his deliveries.  Driving on his beautiful property, chasing cows out of the road, and of course being escorted by Rojo when I delivered his food to the door.  His walk was little unsteady and he would joke that he wasn't drunk, it was just his meds.  He was a funny, kind man and I am thankful for having had the opportunity to meet him and Rojo.

I am so very sad to hear the news of Kyle’s passing. He was just one of the best all around people I’ve ever met. I worked with Kyle at Shaw and was fortunate to become friends which meant that I was witness to someone who cared about you and could see through to the real you and could make you feel so good about life. He loved his family, his pet dog and his family property with great passion. I’m so sad that I wasn’t able to reconnect. I pray for Comfort for Kyle’s family and close friends. 

I am so sorry to hear about this but i know he is in Heaven with Jesus now! He was a great Christian, friend, and customer of mine! i will always cherish his great attitude and outlook on life!

I met Kyle 15 years ago here in Montana and although 27 years older we traveled many Mountains together.  We became great friends and his crossing to the other side has has affected me tremendously.  I considered him my son and loved him as such. I can not reason why I, an older man, is still hanging around while a vibrant young guy is gone.

So sad to learn of Kyle's passing.  He was truly a nature person, I would like to think I was half the hiker he was. The last several times I talked to him was on Pine Mtn.  We would talk about his Liberia, Montana and Canada trips a lot, once he pointed out his barn you could see from Pine Mtn.. He loved helping with the Orphange in Libera, we talked about several times. Hope they put a memorial for you there. You will be missed by many!  Happy hiking!





Kyle will always hold a special place in my heart.

A gentle, gentle soul with a heart of gold. One of the very best ‘84 had to offer. I’ll love you forever, sweet one.  Rest easy, my friend. 

I have so many wonderful memories of Kyle. He actually read a book called “True Grizz” that was about our field work in Montana. He asked if he could volunteer and of course we became close friends over the years. He loved working with grizzly bears and he was great help too. He also enjoyed looking for pikas and he kept telling me I saved him from a nasty fall while we were scrambling through a rocky slope looking for pika. He was a little off balance at times and he started to fall backward. Luckily I was behind him and was able to break his fall and kept his head from hitting a rock. Every time we went hiking he would bring that up again.  He loved Montana, the mountains, the wildlife, and the people. I am so glad that Rachel and I had a chance to visit him at his house in Georgia. He talked about it a lot and it was great to see him and Rojo while we walked around the property. 
I will always remember his smile, his joking around, and his appetite for red vine licorice. Finally… yes Kyle, the gate swings both ways… a little inside joke we had .😉Thanks to Kyle for all the great memories. I miss so much. Rest In Peace.

It has been a while since I’d last seen Kyle but he left an impression of such a wonderful kind and soft spoken man. His shy smile and his love of his dog will always be my memories of him. Rest peacefully Kyle.

I first met Kyle in 2012 while working with grizzly bears together in Montana. I feel I knew him much longer than these too-short 9 years. We hiked, skied, shared meals and stories from the heart, and worked grizzly bears together. 

On one hike in Glacier Park, we stopped to talk to other hikers about whether the lake was good for swimming. I told them to follow the fishing trails to the head of the lake to get away from the mucky bottom. We hiked on in silence for a few minutes when Kyle finally said, “What’s a monkey bottom?” We had a good laugh over that misunderstanding and from then on he called me Monkey Bottom. I called him Cupcake, though neither of us could remember the genesis of that name. If it had to do with his love of a particular baked item, then I’d have called him Donut Hole. 

Kyle, I’m never going to forget you or stop missing you. Thank you for your friendship. I love you always, Cupcake. Now you are roaming the mountains you love so, on sturdy legs. 

Kyle was a great hiking buddy whose good humor and sly tricks (like putting rocks in my backpack) were part of the joy of knowing him.   My daughter, Julie and granddaughter, Courtney will never forget the laughs, jokes and good times as we hiked the trails with him in beautiful Glacier National Park.  Rest in Peace dear friend.

Kyle loved it here in Montana and we hiked the mountains here a lot. Kyle never got tired of the landscape. His mantra is " If you are lucky enough to be in the mountains ⛰  you are lucky enough." 

Oh Kyle, you will be, and are already, missed by so many. Our acquaintance was just a moment in time but I will never forget it. Your wonderful personality, your great sense of humor, sincere interest in people and critters.. ..I feel so privileged and blessed that our paths crossed that one special day in Montana. 
 My heartfelt condolences go out to all the loved ones, family and friends,  you left behind. Rest In Peace, friend 😥. 

Kyle nicknamed me Billy Bear in high school because of my stature and the way I talk. It has been shortened to Bear but any time someone calls me that I tell them about good ole Kyle naming me that. Love and prayers to all that knew him !!

I have known Kyle for many years sold him several trucks,sold his personal vehicles also for him.I really will miss his phone calls.

I remember Kyle in our younger days when we would shoot basketball together and working together as Lifeguards…. He was always a joy to be around, and wise beyond his years.

Kyle James Topham you will truly be missed. I didn’t see you often but when I did it was like no time had passed at all. You were always smiling. no matter what you were going through. From Cartersville basketball to UGA football, you were truly my brother from another mother. Rest easy my friend. God has called you home. 

Kyle will be greatly missed.  He was such a ray of sunshine to anyone who new him.  It was always a joy speaking with him.

Kyle was a wonderful friend. I’ll will truly miss his witty remarks. He was the type of friend you could always count on. I met him many years ago and he never changed.   Always the same joyful person. In my conversations with him he never questioned God and was confident in his eternity!!  His Smokey & The Bandit references I will always remember!  So long for now, my friend….until we meet again. 

Kyle will truly be missed. I enjoyed our conversations whether on the phone, when we saw each other around town or at the car wash. A gentle kind soul that fought a long hard battle.  We all know he loved going to the “mountains” to relax.  Rest well my friend.

There’s no one else like Kyle. As his teacher he could be a “little” frustrating, but more often than not he put a smile on my face. He was a kind, caring young man and he has left us much too soon. It’s ironic he had a hard time getting to my class on time and owes me a few tardy slips but he’s Resting in Peace and those missing Tardy Slips are forgiven. Rest well my Friend. You will be missed.🙏🙏🙏

Kyle has always been a true friend of mine. You could always count on Kyle anytime you needed him for advise or just as a true friend. He was dedicated to his friends and family. God bless the family during this time.

Kyle was always such a positive person. He has suffered much. Sympathy to his family. He is too young to be gone. 

Kyle has long been one of our closest friends. We shared a love of the great outdoors, John Denver, Lonesome Dove, and so many other things. He has been a source of inspiration and joy in our lives and he will be greatly missed. 
We pray for the peace and comfort of God over all his family and friends. 
This picture of Kyle was taken while we journeyed together in his beloved Glacier National Park. We will smile every time we think of him because we know that’s how he wants it.
