John W. “Dub” Lipscomb, 83, of Rydal, Georgia was born September 20, 1934 as the oldest son of four children to Lola B. and John L. Lipscomb of Rydal, Georgia. Dub passed away January 16, 2018 in Monroe, Georgia.
Dub was a driver and retired from Central Truck Lines of Atlanta, Georgia in 1987, and co-owned JW’s Produce at the State Farmer’s Market in Forest Park, Georgia from 1987 until his retirement there in 1993.
He is survived by his three daughters – Donna Lipscomb Gibbs of Dayton, Ohio, Lisa Lipscomb Connor of Monroe, Georgia, and Carole Pruitt of Double Springs, Alabama. He has four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Service for John W. “Dub” Lipscomb will be held at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 – visitors will be received at 10:30 am with service to follow at 11:30 am. Dub’s interment will be at White Cemetery on Richards Road.
